Milk Bread | Roti Susu Jepun Lembut dan Gebu

Assalamualaikum

Minggu lepas Ema nampak ada orang rumah beli roti bun, tapi gula taburan, MashaAllah, boleh naik kandungan gula dalam darah (┬┬﹏┬┬). Ema tak jadi makan.

Minggu ni pula Ema nak cuba siapkan draft review paper untuk dihantar ke ex-supervisor. Tapi, Ema asyik lapar walaupun dah banyak kali makan. Sepatutnya review article, tiba-tiba scrolling Youtube cooking channel. Nampakla Soft and Fluffy Milk Bun yang menggoda. 

People bake what they want to eat. So, I want milk bread so I bake milk bread..











310 g tepung roti
30 g gula
3 g garam
4 g yis kering
1 biji telur
170 g susu suam
20 g mentega
50 g krim keju




1. Gaulkan tepung roti, gula, garam dan yis sebati. 
2. Masukkan telur, susu dan krim keju.
3. Pukul mengguna stand mixer (hook) atau uli dengan tangan atau gunakan bread mixer. Seterusnya masukkan mentega. 
4. Letakkan doh di dalam bekas yang dilesek mentega/minyak, litupkan dengan kain basah atau plastik dan biarkan kembang selama 1 jam.
5. Bahagikan doh kepada bahagian yang sama, tekan dan keluarkan angin dalam doh. Uli balik doh menjadi bebola kecil. 
6. Litupkan dan biarkan doh mengembang selama 15 minit.
7. Tekan dan keluarkan angin balik. Uli balik doh menjadi bebola kecil dan susunkan di atas dulang pembakar. Litupkan dan biarkan kembang sekali lagi selama 40 minit.
8. Taburkan hiasan - sapuan telur/keju/gula - dan bakar pada suhu 150c selama 15-20 minit.





Alhamdulillah. I managed to bake a soft and fluffy bread. I have made one years ago but my classmate commented, it was not soft. This recipe did not use bread improver nor bread softener. All about the right way to bake. 

I studied bee bread fermentation while waiting for the dough to poof. Turn out, ethanol also helps to the bread dough to expand more during baking.

Welp, the shape might not be consistent, but the smell..the smell of a fresh-baked bread could cloud your worries and boost your serotonin. 
 




I put a simple garnish of cheddar cheese. For a generous amount of sweetness, I glazed the bread surface with a honey-butter mixture. It also adds the shiny-gloss appearance to the bread.








Maybe I will make the cheese stick version.

It's great to be ambitious and aim for more and more to be happy in the future, as I've lived up until now, but I think it's one of the nicest ways to live life if you know how to enjoy what is in the present.

    lama nyer aida tak meroti.
    kemalasan melanda. ada 1kg tepung roti kat rumah, ema.
    ntah bila kerajinan nak menjelma.
